Chapter 9: Her Kids

"Yeah.. adults have the permission to be rude to kids but kids can't be rude to adults, this world mentality is quite twisted." She said and rolled her eyes, sniffing her nose.
"Look here kid, you shut up and get out of my way, I have somewhere to be and it's quite urgent," The exasperated man in front of her said in frustration and tried to side step her but the girl was quick witted.
"Look here adult, you listen to me and stare straight into my eyes, I have an urgent matter to solve and it involves you, so you have to stay right here," she adjusted her nose mask and put her hair behind her ears.
She hardly reached his waist and had to stare up at the man so the difference in their height almost made her glare comical, the passer-by couldn't help but be amused.
"Let me just go, you kid of the devil,"
"That's what I'm talking about, you have zero humbleness in your fucking brain, you shitty son of a bitch," she cussed and the guy stared at her in shock, as well as those passing at that moment.
"Did.. did you just cuss at me?"
"Andrea, what's up?" Another kid said who walked up to them, put his hand over the girl's shoulder and stared at the man.
"You wouldn't believe this man right here, he just started talking nonsense when we both bumped into each other and told me that I should used the fucking eyes that I was given and brain to apologise to him,"
"Yeah, you should. You bumped into me and sent my files flying all over the place like it's some fireworks,"
"If you also had been looking at where you were going, you would have avoided this unnecessary chit-chat," Andrea said and the man gaped at her. Was this girl serious right now?
"Yeah, it takes two to tango, you should have apologized to each other and walked away," the second kid said nodding.
"She didn't try to apologize at all,"
"Then you should have been the better man and adult, thereby apologizing, you should have also used you fucking brain mister," the boy chided and the man just stared at them speechless.
"Kids, let's go," another lady said walking to them when she saw the kids. The shocked and baffled expression on the guy's face made her feel sorry and amused at the same time.
"No aunt, we are not going not until he apologizes," Andrea said, crossing her hand while the boy was adjusting his own nose mask.
"Yeah, we aren't,"
"Well, you have to, Sapphire just called me and said she is already at the airport now,"
"Really?" They both were brimming from ear to ear and the guy in front of them would have thought they were cute because of the way their eyes crinkled at the edge and how sparkling their eyes became.
The lady mentioned must be so lucky to be loved by these devils.
"Ok let's go, Luci."
"Yeah, I am already bored with this one, he's no fun, Luci,"
"Wait, Luci?" The woman said, staring at them pointedly, why were they repeating her name.
"Yeah, it's rude to call people older than you by their name just like that in front of strangers,"
"Sorry, let's just go,"she said and the man's phone rang, he took the phone and paled, taking hurried steps towards the exit.
"Yes Mr. Aldine,"
"Where the hell are you, Nate?"
"I had a situation but am on my way right now,"
"We would really have a situation if you don't get here in ten minutes."
"Ok sir and --," the call dropped.
"He should really stop hanging up and my name is Marcus, Mr. Alexander." He entered a taxi.
"Gosh those two kids are the devil's, now I'm doomed because of them,"
'Why is he in such a hurry, you would think that he is on his way to attend to the devil," Andrew said, amused.
'Who knows," Luci said.
'Andrea! Andrew!" Someone called their name and they turned to see Sapphire standing there, their eyes crinkled in happiness and their teeth were covered by the nose mask.
They ran to her and jumped into her open hands,they were obviously happy to see her.
'Mom!" They both said at the same time and Sapphire smiled at them, ruffling their hair.
'My beautiful kids," She replied, staring at her children with so much joy in her eyes.

"That is not fair at all, granny. You didn't tell anyone that she is getting married to Alexander," Marylynne yelled and Emiliana rolled her eyes before resting her head on the head rest.
"I did, I told you that she is getting married to Alexander and you agreed,"
"You only told me that she's getting married to Mr Aldine--,"
"No I said the full name Alexander Antonio Aldine," she replied in a duh tone.
"Mr Aldine, the C.E.O of Triple A's conglomerate,"
"No, that is just what your brain picked out of the long list," she said and collected the tea from a maid who just brought it to them at the second balcony. "Alexander Antonio Aldine, the CEO of Triple A's conglomerate, that's what I said, and I don't think it's any of my fault if your brain selected few from it," she took a sip of the tea and sighed in content while Marylynne glared at her.
"Oh right, my only fault is that I didn't tell you that it's the new CEO acquiring the position in a few days time," she dropped the cup.
"You only mentioned his full name once," Marylynne yelled in frustration, it is so obvious that her husband's mother planned all this to get this outcome.
"And that didn't stop your husband from remembering, he told Sapphire his full name, remember," she turned to stare at a fountain situated in the middle of the compound.
"and why are you stressing yourself out on this matter. Last time I checked, your damn princess ran away two days to the first engagement dinner and I know she kept contact with you," she said calmly and Marylynne's eyes widened in shock.
This is why it is not a good thing to have a witch as an in-law ,they know everything you are up to and watch you like a hawk.
"And you should be happy, even though one was a brat, it's still your daughter getting married to Aldine, are you a lucky one?" She finally turned from the fountain and stared at her square in the eyes.
"Besides if Sapphire stops being your daughter, does that make Ruby a stranger also," she asked with irritation and Marylynne squirmed under her stares. "Hmm, I guess it does, cause if it doesn't, you would have tried to persuade your daughter to save her brother,"
'That is a different thing entirely,"
'Let me ask you a question Marylynne, why did you hate the daughter you gave birth to so much? You practically crushed her all those years ago, I am still wondering why she haven't barged in with gun and shoot you dead,"
'I would always hate Sapphire, it doesn't matter if she gets married to a rich man or gets betrayed by her lover, I would always plan her downfall." Marylynne said with so much venom in her voice.
Matriarch Emiliana wondered how someone could hate another person to such an extent.
