Sapphire stared at the man's mocking smile and rolled her eyes. What is so funny about her is that the man always had a smile on her whenever he saw her.

'Mr. Aldine," she said curtly.

'Alexander is okay, you won't want to call me that now if you think about our relationship with each other," He said and Sapphire glared at him, he is making the kids misunderstand her.

Marcus stared at Alexander in surprise, he never allows any woman from the high society to call him by his name, he usually stops the few that do it very quickly and harshly but he is here telling this woman who wants to be formal with him to call him by his name.

"Do you know our mom?" it was Andrew that spoke up, staring at the cool man in front of him.

He looked like the man he wanted to be in the future , cool, handsome and mysterious.

"He is a friend of mine," she said and Marcus stared at her in surprise, first she had kids, devilish ones at that, he wondered briefly if his boss knew that and then he lied to her kids about who he was to her.

"We're getting married soon, I am her fiance," Alexander said and Sapphire glared at him in annoyance.

He extended his hand to them and tilted the corner of his lips.

"I am Alexander Aldine," he said.

"So you are the one our mother is going to get married to," Andrea said and Alexander nodded. "I suppose that's a good thing, it's about time she got married." She said before shaking his hand.

"I am Andreana Texas but I suppose it will soon be Andreana Aldine," she said.

"Andrew Texas, welcome to the family," he said and Sapphire couldn't be more mortified, this meant that the twins like the man and whether she likes it or not, they are going to pitch them together.

"So if you are pretty much engaged to each other, aren't you guys supposed to live with each other?" Andrew asked innocently and Sapphire groaned.

They were now sitting inside the restaurant and both her friends had found one reason or the other to leave.

"Not all engaged people live together,"

"I told your mom that we all should live together but she said no,"

Alexander said, smirking at her and Sapphire stared at him in surprise, when did he ask her that but he guessed her answer right, why would she live with him.

This guy was taking advantage of the fact that they liked him.

"She's quite the stubborn one, isn't she?" Andrea said twirling her hair around her finger before smiling brightly, "But all is good now, we are moving in with you in two days,"

"What? Are you joking?" Sapphire said staring at her children with wide eyes, how do they get to be the one to make the decisions.

Why are they match making them, what did they even see in Alexander?

‘The same thing you saw in him that made you happy when you learned that you were engaged to him' her mind told her and she shook her head.

"Of course not, we need to move to a better house and beside that house is quite far from the main city and you are starting your work at the company very soon, we only have a car and Aunt Luci can't be driving you about and----" Andrea ranted on and on.

"Okay, okay," Sapphire cut her off, the kids are out to get her, this was one of the reasons why she didn't want them to know each other. "But we can't do without Aunt Luci and you know that, you guys are not leaving them for some rich guy after all they have done for you," Sapphire said trying to guilt trip them, she knows that works on them best, she's their mother after all.

"Yeah, we can't possibly leave them, that's like betraying them," Andrew said and he looked like he was already changing his mind.

"Yes, and betrayers are the worst, and we can't do that to them," Andrea said.

Alexander stared at the kids with a thoughtful smile, they are so young yet they know what is good and what is bad, Sapphire really saved the past of the energy her stupid family and fiance left her with to teach this kids.

"Exactly! They came all the way from Gisborne with us, we are dropping them off at the slightest opportunity," Sapphire said with a fake sober expression that only Alexander was able to see through on her face. She believed she had won, who the hell did Alexander think he was to the kids, he just saw them today.

"I'm sorry Mr. Alexander but I don't think it would be possible," Andrea finally said the words Sapphire wanted to hear. Her eyes lit up in excitement and couldn't help the smile that settled in her lips while a frown was tugging at the corner of the kids lips.

"How about you all come to live in my house, it's spacious and can take every one of you," He said, breaking Sapphire from the happy bubble she was in, the smile wiped off her face, her eyes dimmed while she tried to process Alexander's words.

"Even Aunt Claire?" Andrea asked in excitement and the man nodded. "Yessss!" They yelled in excitement.

"Mom, you hear that? We're moving in two days!" Andrew yipped.

"We have to ask Luci and Claire, they ought to have a say in this matter," Sapphire said, her last saving grace.

"Yeah, you should do that," Alexander said and Sapphire narrowed her eyes on him.

She wondered what he was up to, that man and her can never have the same view on a matter.

" But I am afraid there's no way to contact you guys to ask about their decision," he said and Sapphire breathed out in anger, she was right about him having ulterior motives.

"Just like mom not to give you her contact," Andrew grumbled.

"Easy peasy, where is your phone, I would put our contacts in it," she collected the phone and pressed it for a while before giving it back to him. "Done! Now you can call us anytime."

'Good," Alexander said to her kids, smiling. They look so close, like friends who had known each other all their lives.

He raised his head and stared at her, the smile still on her face and Sapphire cursed her heart for skipping a beat. Why the hell must her heart get involved? It's only job is to provide blood and Sapphire is going to make sure that's the only thing it does, nothing else!
