'Why the hell did the teacher let her take her away?" Sapphire replied in a worried voice.
'Because she came here with Heather, Heather is no stranger at the school, she is the one that comes and picks her when I have important business to get to, and so the teacher really didn't suspect anything. I don't expect Heather to come and take the baby, in fact, she told me that she won't be able to do it and Arielle ordered me to do some things, so that's why I haven't picked up the kid. My aim was to come and take her as soon as I finished talking to you, I really don't expect her to strike so soon," Jessica said, her tone shook in fear and her breath was heavy, it was like a big rock was blocking her throat.
'Be calm, Jessica, it is only when you are calm that we can get your daughter," Sapphire said calmly over the phone and Jessica tried to breathe.
'Go to Arielle. She would have your baby with her if she really did want to threaten you," Sapphire said and Jessica nodded as she got into the car. It was late evening and the sky was gradually turning dark, she pressed the start engine and drove off the school premises.
'Make sure to turn on your location so that we can get to you,"
'You won't be able to track it down, there is no signal in that place, and no electrical gadget is welcomed." Jessica replied.
'Then you just have to tell me the address of where you are going, so that it would be easy to trail you. Then when you get there, try to stall for time as much as possible in order to make sure that you are both safe when we get there," Sapphire said and Jessica nodded, she realized that Sapphire can't see her so she said okay.
She was high on speed as she drove to the building that would be called their hideout. Heather had told her to come there, she parked the car and quickly sent a message to Sapphire, and she also took a picture of the building and sent it to her, so that she would not find it hard to locate the exact building because it is well hidden in the forest.
She didn't know what Sapphire and her team would do but she believed that they have common enemies and it would be their chance to bring both Arielle and Heather down, those two were her major enemies.
She rubbed her sweaty hands against her cloth and entered the cottage that was in front of her, it was big which made it easier to hide, Arielle made sure that it was well hidden in the forest and tricky to find.
She knocked on the door and waited for a bit, those seconds that it took for Heather to open the door awfully felt like days to her and she couldn't help clicking her heels on the floor impatiently.
The door opened and Heather stood there with a smile on her face but she couldn't muster up the energy to smile back, it was hard to curve her lips when the life of her daughter was at stake.
'You took your time to get here," Heather said, moving back and allowing her space to enter the house.
'I went to check on Amy at school and the teacher told me that she had been picked up by you . . . and boss," She said and Heather just nodded, she didn't bother to turn.
'What does she want from me now? She only takes my daughter when she needs something to threaten me with." Jessica said in exasperation, there is no need for Sapphire to ask her to stall for time, her unsettled mind is enough in itself.
'Don't say it in such vulgar words." Heather said with a sarcastic smile. 'She only does that when she needs to put you under hold, calling it threatening is a bit of a stretch. You know that she doesn't have time for her kid," Heather said calmly.
'Can't she just let it remain like that? You know that she get hurt every time she is under boss's hold, she doesn't have any sympathy or empathy for kids, she dishes out the same level of pain to a six years old kid and thirty years old woman, do you want me to go through the pain of seeing her torture my baby?" Jessica asked pitifully, taking Heather's hand in hers, hoping that Heather would just pity her and plead with Arielle to let Amy go but Heather only rolled her eyes at her and swatted her hands away like she was an annoying pesky pest in her way.
'This wouldn't have happened if you hadn't met up with Sapphire. Tell me, are you trying to sell us out to them?" Heather snarled at her angrily. 'How much did they offer you to switch sides so quickly? Don't give me all the crap about how you are trying to trap her because I won't believe it, you were begging her so desperately," Heather said and threw the pictures on the table at her, all the pictures fluttered to the ground and there were pictures of her talking to Sapphire at the café. 'Or…. Don't tell me that you thought that we wouldn't know that it is you simply because you used a mask and a cap?"
'You have men after me. You don't trust me,"
'Those pictures scream a lot about what would have happened if we had trusted you," Heather yelled at her.
Jessica heard a tiny voice scream in pain from one of the rooms and she was frozen to the spot with eyes wide in fear, that voice is the voice of her little darling.
She heard another wail and that made her spring into action, she tried to race to the room but Heather held her off.
'Where do you think that you are going? This is your punishment for what you did to us. Hearing your girl's scream and not being able to do anything to it, how does it feel?" Heather asked, holding her in place. She heard another thump followed by a toe curling scream.
‘What the hell is she doing to my baby? I have to save her.' she thought and pushed Heather away from her, she pushed her so hard that she hit her rib on the table that was in the middle of the room. Jessica didn't spare her a glance and just rushed to the room where those sounds came from. She threw the door open and what she saw made her still in her movement and her heart dropped to the pit of her stomach.
Arielle was standing in the middle of the room with her daughter who was tied to the chair, a knife was in her hand and it was obvious that she was slitting her body with it, there were line that seeped blood on her thighs and arms, her hair was pulled in a choke hold in Arielle hand, the woman had a smile on her lips and when she turned to see Jessica, she tightened her hold on her hair.
'You are here? Welcome." She said and pushed Amy away while she walked to Jessica in steady strides, Jessica tried to move back but was blocked by Heather who was at the door.
'You really are here."
