Chapter 189

It pisses me off how much he looks at me, and it pisses me off even more that I can't do anything I truly want about it.
I stand with my friends in the lunchroom as we talk and laugh but I can't help knowing that his sitting all the way over there just staring, and he knows I can see him "isn't that funny babe?" I hear the faint voice of my girlfriend as Evan and I stare at each other "Luke!" She
waves her hand in my face and I snap out of it "what? What is it?" I turn to her
"Ugh" she rolls her eyes and walks away
I turn to my friends "what did I do?" They all laugh
"Man you need to get your shit together or you're going to lose that girl" my friend Nate says. I don't really care about Paige she's just some hot girl I bang, she's really annoying.
Lunch ends and I walk to my locker "are you ready for the game this weekend?" My teammate walks along side of me
"Hell yeah! We leave for the hotel tomorrow night"
"North shore doesn't know what's coming for them" he walks away and I open my locker which so happens to be right next to Evan's
"You have to stop staring at me" I say not looking at him while I place my books in my locker "You have to stop making it so easy" I can feel him smiling
"I don't know what you think you're going to get out of trying to seduce me but it's not working"
"Isn't it though?" He shuts his locker and walks away. Evan is gay and he's on the football team with me, he has this idea that I might be like him and I'm not. At all.
I get to the locker room and start to change for gym "yo I got Nina and Paige rooms at our hotel so it's all set for tomorrow night" Nate stands next to me. He's talking to me but all I can feel is Evan's presence listening
"Good" we laugh and I continue to change. I'm not going to let Evan get to me. I think about him sometimes, how light and blue his eyes are and how he uses them to pry himself into my head. Its like he knows what he's doing and yet he does it even more.
After gym I rush to my car to leave "hey" Paige calls after me as I walk "wait up!" I stop for her "got any plans?"
"Going for a run when I get home, why?"
"Well my parents aren't home, wanna come over?" she smiles
I really don't want to "tell you what, whatever it is save it for tomorrow night ok?" "Sure" she kisses me and I walk away.
As I drive home I can't help but notice Evan walking on the sidewalk, I should keep driving and let
him walk but then I'd feel bad "need a ride?" I ask slowing down and rolling my window down
He turns to me and smiles "you sure about that?"
"Can't do a nice thing for you without you making it something it's not?" his little games gets annoying sometimes
"I'm good walking thanks"
I roll my eyes "just get in the car Evan" I stop the car. He stands there and thinks about it for a second then gets in. "Why do you assume that I'm like you?" I ask breaking the silence as I drive to his house, he doesn't reply instead he just smiles "I'm not you know"
"Not what?" he asks "I'm not gay"
"Then how come this doesn't bother you," he says placing his hand on my inner thigh "if you're not gay this should bother you" he moves his hand up and down slowly
"Letting that bother me would mean you winning"
He grins "you think I'm playing a game?" I pull up to his house "If this isn't a game then what are you doing?"
"I like you Luke, and despite what you tell yourself I know you feel something. You may think this is a
game but it's not. If there's even an ounce of you that thinks that I might be right then you'll come to my hotel room tomorrow night" he gets out of the car but sticks his head in the window "room 430" he winks and walks away. I feel nothing, he's a guy and that's not what I'm into at least I don't think I am. Why am I second guessing myself I know I'm not into that!

We get to the hotel room and after coach's speech we head to our rooms. I can't stop thinking about what Evan said 'I know you feel something' he doesn't know what I feel, I feel like he's only doing this because he knows I won't pick on him for it. Being the only guy on the team that's actually ok with Evan being who he is he thinks it's a sign for me liking him. "the girls are here dude" Nate walks into my room as I lay in bed
"Go get them" I reply and he runs back out. Truth be told I don't need Paige here tonight, I'm fine all by myself but she's so pushy that if you tell her no she'll take offense.
Nate walks back into my room a few minutes later with them and Paige walks towards me "hey baby" she kisses me
"Hey" I pull away replying.
"Alright we'll leave you, two crazy kids, alone" Nate says then leaves with Nina.
"So what's the plan?" she asks taking off her jacket and climbing on my bed. Her skirt is so short that I could see her thong and even that wasn't doing anything for me. "Luke?" she stares at me as I think
"Yeah?"
"Are you going to come here or not?" I shake the thoughts out of my head and climb on the bed. She crawls towards me and kisses me as she swings her legs around my waist to straddle my lap. "Mmm I missed you" she whispers as she nibbles on my neck
"We literally saw each other less than 24 hours ago" I reply
"Yeah but haven't you been thinking about tonight as much as I have?"
Not at all actually "sure" I reply
she pulls away "what's wrong with you? Are you not into this?" "I am"
"You don't seem like it"
"Sorry I'm just thinking about other things"
"Luke if you're not into me anymore just tell me ok"
"Calm down I said I have a lot on my mind so sorry if sex with you isn't my number 1 priority right now"
"You're being a dick"
I scoff "you know what do whatever you want. I'm going for a walk"
I grab my jacket and head for the door "LUKE!" she calls my name and I don't bother stopping or answering. I walk out and take a deep sigh, thank god I'm away from her. I walk in the hotel hallways trying to get as far away as possible. As I'm walking I see an open door down the hall and as I approach there's a sign on the door that says 'staircase to roof keep out' I could really use the fresh air so I decide to head up there.
When I reach the roof I step out and stand there, I notice a figure sitting on the edge. It's him! It's Evan. Fuck what should I do? I should just leave talking to him would be a bad idea, but he doesn't own this roof so I shouldn't run away either. I decide to say something "hey!
what are you doing out here?" I ask walking towards him
He's startled and I chuckle "Jesus don't sneak up on people" he says
